I'm guilty of making a judgement of her when she first walked in, as she was wearing fluro work cloths and just finished work! We very easily struck up a conversation about her granddaughter and she was telling me how at
Some how we got on to the topic of her ex husband and how she found out he was cheating after 25 years of marriage. I don't want to get into the politics of the dynamics of a relationship/marriage, because each situation has its own set of circumstances.
She then proceeded to tell me she packed her house up in 3 hours, took most items, assets, kids and left and has never seen him again 2 yeas later. She said the first 12 months were hard, now she has a great job, new car, new life, loves her kids and being a grandma. I could not get over this woman's strength and a sense of freedom and acceptance of her situation after 25 years of marriage (your only getting bits of our conversation).
The last thing she said to me was "now it time for me to find a new man", we both had a giggle like two school girls! I still think about that day she popped into the store and it makes me smile, "I told her to write a book", she is thinking about it.
I don't condone marriage breakups, I've been down that road myself it's tough. But in the midst of her turmoil she got to the other side and found happiness. I Will never forget her or judge a book by its cover! x
