My Dad was a magician for over 60 years, and was an order of Merlin! Marco the magician and Patches the clown were his two act names.
My dads passion for magic, and belief in not sharing the secret was something I admired. I can still hear him say " A true magician never reveals his secrets". As kids growing up going to functions and events with dad, we did not always appreciate the magic journey. Even when my dad just popped to the shops, he always had a magic trick in his pocket or his wallet ready to go! Dad just loved magic, seeing people's reaction and surprise.
My brothers and I inherited 60years of magic tricks, books and so much more. It has been boxed in my home for not quite two years and its time for the magician society to collect and hopefully it will go to other magicians that will have the same passion for magic that my dad did! I can't begin to explain the amount of boxes I have full of magic tricks, each magic trick is individually packed with the instructions. My dad was never tech savvy, so all the magic ticks instructions were typed on a type writer! My dad new what every magic trick did and where is was in his cupboards (that we were not supposed to be in).
The magician society will collect dads magic this week to sort through and sell. I can only wish that someone enjoys the magic and shares in his passion! X
